Kowloon Walled City Park

Perched on the site of the former Kowloon Walled City, Kowloon Walled City Park is a 31,000-square-metre Chinese Garden with significant historic value. Apart from a tranquil and green environment studded with Chinese pavilions and ponds built in the Qing Dynasty style, it preserves a number of historic relics that reflects and enriches the identity of the location.

Pierced lattice windows provide ventilation in the cloisters whilst framing various scenic views of the park.
The Moon Gate (a circular opening in a garden wall) provides a welcoming pedestrian passageway. A full moon symbolises completion or perfection in the natures cycle and it is often related to reunion and perfection in Chinese culture.

Potted bonsai in the Garden of Four Seasons.<br /><br />Garden of Four Seasons is a garden within the garden. Together with flowers of four seasons and traditional Chinese Lingnan-style bonsais, miniature mountains and shrubberies are showcased in the garden.
The wall facing the South Gate is inscribed with an article introducing the history of Kowloon Walled City Park and creates an interesting feature in this part of the garden.
Arched stone bridges or Moon Bridges, connect different areas of the park and provide an interesting traditional feature in this Chinese style garden. These arched bridges create a half circle which, when reflected in the water below, becomes a full circle or ‘full moon’.
Traditional granite tables and stools are placed in tree shaded areas to welcome the visitors to take a seat and enjoy the quiet ambience of the Park.
The Garden of the Chinese Zodiac is a lawn area that forms a setting for sculptures representing the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac. The sculptures are set beneath shade trees including Indian Figs and Cotton Trees and garden is defined by Chinese pavilions and covered walkways.
