The recognised CEA courses are listed in the website of the Registration Scheme for Tree Management Personnel (the Scheme).

If you have registrations in various personnel types of tree management personnel, in the same validity period of the registrations, when you participate in a recognised CEA course which is targeted for more than one registered tree management personnel types, you will obtain essential CEA hours under those registered personnel types at the same time upon completion of the course. There is no need to participate in the same course for several times in order to obtain CEA hours for various personnel types. Upon completion of the course, the personnel can also obtain optional CEA hours for other personnel type(s) which is/are non-targeted personnel type(s) of the course.


Examples for Illustration of Counting CEA Hours

Example 1

A personnel is registered in all 5 job types including Arborist, Tree Risk Assessor, Tree Work Supervisor, Tree Climber and Chainsaw Operator, and his/her registrations for the 5 job types have the same validity period. He/she can view the available recognised CEA courses in the Scheme’s website.

For example, he/she is interested to join CEA Course A as listed in the website:

He/she only needs to complete the CEA Course A once to obtain CEA hours for Arborist, Tree Risk Assessor and Tree Work Supervisor at the same time. It is not necessary to attend the same course for 3 times so as to obtain the CEA hours for each type of personnel individually. Also, the CEA hours of Course A can be counted as the optional CEA hours for other non-targeted personnel type(s) of the course including Tree Climber and Chainsaw Operator.

Please pay attention that the course code of recognised CEA course has denoted the target personnel type(s) of the course. Below is an example –
