Applications | The tree crown of Chittagong Chickrassy is umbrella-shaped, with its branches spread open. The young leaves exhibit a colour gradient, with leaflets along the rachis changing from pink to green. The pentagonal-star-shaped flowers are purplish yellow in colour, looking like stars hanging in the sky during blossom. The species can colour the environment, contributing to its aesthetic values. Therefore, it is commonly used as street trees and landscaping trees. They are commonly planted in South China. The wood of Chittagong Chickrassy is yellowish brown to auburn (reddish brown), solid, resistant to decay, aromatic and shiny. It can be made into furniture and construction materials. This species can be applied as folk medicine. Its bark is an astringent, while its leaves can cure skin ulcers and is anthelmintic. |
